what do follower skulls mean? and how to level up?

the skulls are units of leadership. each yellow skull is how many leadership points you are required to have in order to recruit that character as your ally.

you level up by finding skill totems. some will give you 1 point and others 3 points at once.

eventually, some skill will need more than one point spent at a time to level it up. for instance, to max out leadership (and recruit characters with more yellow skulls) you will need to save your skill points from one totem or more.

in description if it sounds confusing, sorry, but it's really no more or less complicated than most games.

i see. so are team members with higher skulls better/stronger than the one without i could let join right now?
