Do you really need a controller?

Ive been wanting to play this, but i can't because the directional keys on my keyboard aren't working. I have even wiped my hand across the keyboard and NOTHING HAPPENS. Any suggestions?

Thats bizarre. I've managed to play all the way through with just usin my keyboard. Try re-installing/ restarting pc. Its obviously a bug in the download but you definitly don't need a controller
