I admit I was thrown off by the potential for incest - yet also I liked the game better for it, because such a story premise is quite unusual and arguably quite troubling.
I actually kept an open mind about it - assuming either we were demonically influenced and later purged; it would be explained away (as it was); or even, implausibly, taboo'ed lovers.
But I would, btw, personally find greater "moral and ethical" objection to anyone being executed or tortured - which also happens in this game - than two adult siblings getting to it voluntarily, as long as contraception is guaranteed. (Pedigree collapse is pretty horribly and compellingly demonstrated by last Habsburg king of Spain Charles II - just google the man and the pictogram of the family tree!)
The rack and the gallows - okei then, are they?
I did for a bit, and rather liked with a good pal whom is a greater fan, and playfully criticising gaps in the scrip - but then I read couple of the books (borrowed, thankfully) and do not particularly wish to enrich the author further.
I was a bit more severly put off by eroticised virginal r*pe (=or enforced intercourse*) / paedophilia (the eventual dragon gal after horse lord-selling off was 13 years of old in the book, if I correctly recall), stale pre-enlightenment morals and general sadism of the original author...
(than ♥♥♥♥-times of Cersei and bro in the TV series, or book even, though the lack of fitness of the sadistic firstborn princeling boy rather highlights my earlier point of the severity of the pedigree collapse in case of incest)
(*) this one refers to a crime - which I condemn in case of anyone and all, be it girl, boy, man woman, most firmly. Since when is selling someone off for a marriage (even fictional) at 13 a four lettered word, not a crime? This bluaady happens in real life, even now! And it is WRONG. A crime. Not a four lettered word.
The latter is what it is.
little mind, just forget video games play with sand forever and take that Ethics and Morals with you,
is a game nothing more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
is a movie nothing more
is a book nothing more
is a play nothing more
I just had a quick look over at your Steam profile, just to see what games you like playing the most. Let's see....
Team Fortress 2
Torchlight & Torchlight II
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
Dungeon Siege 2
Sacred 2
Borderlands & Borderlands 2
Saint's Row IV
Grim Dawn
Fallout: New Vegas
Is it just me, or does it look like that for a man with "Ethics and Morals" you do seem to enjoy quite a few games where the sole focus is brutally murdering beings don't you think? But yes, people loving each other is DISGUSTING!
Furthermore, what are the MORAL and ETHICAL reasons for not having a romantic relationship with your sister according to you? "Because ICK" is not really a good answer.
The primary reasons are twofold I think, and are hardly moral or ethical:
1. You probably have a relationship with your sister that makes you feel not-inclined to have a sexual relationship with her.
2. If you were to have children, there is of course a somewhat increased chance of establishing a hereditary disease that is strong within the family. This is what happens with, for example, inbred dogs.
Don't get me wrong, I have a sister myself and it does make me feel a little queasy too when stuff like this is in the game, but saying you can't play the game because this is "sick" is taking things beyond the realms of hypocrisy, especially given how much you clearly love cyber-murder. You've murdered thousands of living being in your game, but you have a problem with two people loving each other?
Problem solved!
So flirting with your sister is amoral and killing hundrets of people is allright?
One reason why i don't trust the concept of "morality" at all.
How many politicians were very vocal about being against gay marriage / being gay, only to be found out that they were doing it themselves? It is almost always personal guilt/shame or some event that triggers this reaction. Since nothing has happened with this game recently, logic shows that the OP has an incestual fetish.
Truthfully, OP, your kink is not my kink but your kink is ok. Live and let live, just you do your stuff silently and let me do mine, the same; least you get found out as well.
Also I openly admit my sister is sexually attractive, i'm just never going to act on it, what do you have to say about that?
i'm not even OP but this thread has been going on for over a year now, just keeping it alive!
Steam is not the place to discuss such things either. Should you wish to discuss this further, send me a message and I can point you to a safe place to discuss such matters.
Feeling guilty for having a fetish is not healthy. Having a place that is open minded and understanding can help you figure them out, resolve them (resolution takes many forms), and even move on from them, if that is your wish.
Personally, I endorse exploration and a healthy dose of education. Combined, those two can transform a person from unhappy and feeling like they are an outcast, to a person that is happy with their life and knows where they are going. That is worth some minor feelings of nervousness.
In other words get the ♥♥♥♥ over yourselves who the ♥♥♥♥ made you all so special to judge the op in the first place? Your the one being the hypocrites here not the op, have a nice ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day.
