How is it compared to Drakensang 1 & 2?
Loved the Drakensang games, as someone who was brought up on DnD it was a lot of fun to learn and play using The Dark Eye system.

Are you Wob Wobley saying there was no action (enemy bashing) in Drakensang? I assume you have played Drakensang, so it makes no sense...or maybe you are saying that some rpg have no action unless it is explicitly stated? strange....

A RPG doesn't have the same action that a hack and slash does. Still, Drakensang series had some pretty tight situations.

I played Drakensang on hard with constant pausing, so it felt more like Dragon Age Origins to me. This feels like a poor version of games like God of War (therefore: bash, bash, bash) with a descent setup and story.

Retr{R}Deth {>} I will go with your explanation...

Hack&Slay? This game isn't like Diablo or Titan Quest. It's a simple linear RPG, the Dragon Age Origins for the poor man.

In this game you're contanstly hacking and bashing enemies, so yea, it'd be a hack&slash or slay if you preffer it that way. A game doesn't have to have a 2D perspective to be a H&S.

I thought the original Drakensang was pretty much 90% combat. It felt like a dungeon slog, grinding your way through trash mobs and mazes.

There were many things I loved about Drakensang, but the pacing and single minded focus on combat weren't among them. I still haven't played River of Time though.
