Drill Worm Advice

For the life of I can't defeat this room. The spiders keep swarming...can't keep them off my back to do any amount of damage. I clicked on the 3 columns to start some electricity....and I assumed I'd be able to use the middle panle to do something...but not able to..

You need to destroy the pillars and then pull the lever in the center. Once you do that the worm becomes vulnerable. Or he should at least. You can also kill the worm without doing this as well. It takes longer though, but I believe you get a Steam Achievement.

You need to activate all four machine devices that are located around the outside edge of that room, then activate the center machine device. Then repeat until the worm is dead. Should do about 50 points of damage each time. There is a cool-down period each time before you can start activating the devices again. Keep moving and keep shooting the spiders!

Wouldn't let me destroy them. I can click on them to start electricity flowing, but that's it

Should be four devices, one at each "corner" of the room. You need to activate all four, then go to the one in the center of the room and activate it to inflict damage on the worm. Then keep repeating that sequence until the worm is dead. And keep moving and shooting spiders while going from device to device.

After you activate the central device to stun the worm, don't just wander off. Attack the worm while it's stunned. Only had to go through the process three times to finish it off. Mostly ignored the spiders as much as possible.

There is a Bash powerup that eats the Drillworm in ~12 combo points without ever touching the machines. Do 3 combos, kill a couple spiders, do another combo finish off worm.

If you use the towers, Bash will kill the worm in 1 machine cycle :P

Also hilariously fun to use on heroic scenario drillworm. hitting for 33k+ normal Bash damage is fun :D

I used the fire protection around me and pretty much ignored spiders.

I was doing achievement so as caster melee I stood around drill, avoiding his attack and using lightning sword (not very effective, it was like 2-10dmg) and when it started drill (cave collapsing) I put flame shield on and strart killing all spiders (running away yellow targets).

Took a little longer but not that hard. Just kill shooting spiders when there are many of them. They will fill back quickly but not immediatelly and it takes time until they get to position. Cavings kills them too, and since I was running around them with shield many killed by drill as well.

Hmm I only stunned the worm with the devices once, then spent a very long time alternating between cleaving packs and triple-charge striking the worm. It seemed that there would be small windows in the spider spawn rate, and that's when I'd strike. Not hard, just time consuming. :)

Yeah it took over 5 mins of constant running around (seemed like 5 hours). But just keep circling and blast the Drill Worm on each pass. I was using both Melee & Range.
