Casual vs Normal
Was wondering if for the first playthrough if casual is too easy. I just want to enjoy the game I like to explore. I dont want to play on Vet.

Has anytime tried Casual and is it mind numbingly easy? Does Normal ever get really hard?

Keep in mind I am 43 year old a gamer dad who has played all the Diablos and Torchlight games, but I have lost some of my twitch abilities as I have gotten older lol

Wait till youre a 54yo Gamer, and that twitch is involentary..lol..
I have seen posts that state Casual IS way too easy, and even Normal easy as well..Ive been playing on the next harder level, and the balance seems comfortable.
Companion and I have died, but progress is being made, and the flow seems good.
I too have played D1-2 and TL1-2, and this game feels different enough, and very enjoyable!

As a 48 yr old gamer I agree with the fact that I really just want to enjoy the game. Play the diff that best fits your current play style. Haven't picked up the game yet. What's your opinon of the game so far?

VH casual can be done without the keyboard. If you want to use your left hand, just play normal.

i started off by playing hard, both a ranged and melee build
still on hard as melee but id prolly recommend something like normal tho:squirtheh:

For the sale price now, it's well worth it! Just enough the same, and just enough different then TL2 to enjoy!
I'm a "stuff" guy and like the idea of all the loot-buy, sell, use, compare, upgrade..etc..Always wondering whats the next better equipment being dropped..

EDIT- And if you own TL2, you'll find you can still play both and stay interested in both! Plus, for me anyway, that leaves D1-2 way behind! Another curios idea is that I now feel like playing SCARED GOLD again, and havent touched that in , well a long time!

Geezer, you tried Path of Exile? Might like it if you haven't.

I'm only 42 .... but I think I will play on casual and mop up the lootz :) Then I can spec AE spells and ignore the health.

Did try PoE in the past, closer to when it was first released. Played about an hour, and didnt like it, felt shallow. However I did just last night visit the site again, and saw how far it has come. Then saw the sale for VH here, and bought that, rather then trying the free game. Go figure. But thankx for reminding me about PoE, will keep an eye on it again.

In my opinion casual or the easy setting is absolutly terrible!

It feels as if you don't take any damage, and you just hold down the mouse while plowing through the game.

k ill stick with normal thanks. I tried PoE and didnt like it. Not sure what it was something about the camera angle bugged me. Van Helsing is very good.

Sprightly 33 year old here. I started the game on Casual, as I like to just click through these games for loot rather than challenge, but it was so stupidly easy I restarted on Normal.
