The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing

Respawn monster and max lvl
Hi there.

I have two questions.

I found in options menu "enable respawn monsters". Does it works in single player campaign ?
I ask, because I would prefer to not spawn monsters, but I do not know whether I will have 30 lvl.
In sacred monster spawned, and it was good way to lvl up a character.

I want to play in hardcore mode, very hard.

Thanks.

Yes, Enable respawn works for every time you log out of the game by respawning all normal, champoin and some unique monsters on each map. it will not respawn Boss monsters or quests, but will respawn any quest-specific monster which credit was not received for before turning a quest in or receiving a Failed flag.

Typically, a single run through every map on TIAoVH once, completing all quests in the process will likely only net enough experience to get to between level 26 and 29, depending on Difficulty and if you completely exterminated every monster on every map. So in order to get to level 30, you might want to enable Respawns for one or two maps that you found easy to handle, and grind a level or two just to be certain.

Good luck on your Hardcore attempt!

Thnaks a lot datguy13 :)

I thought that I will not turn on monsters respawn, I would like to go the whole campaign, next go to The Neverending Story, and finish it, there the rest of the achievements. If the game will be too difficult, I change the level to normal. Along the way I finish the scenario because it is from 30 lvl.

Is it a good way ?

Is it true that high level of difficulty with hardcore character is madness?

NeverEnding Story for VH1 is a fairly tough, but any player with decent reflexes can usually do well on it with some practice, even at higher Difficulty. I don't recommend NES for a first-time Hardcore character, though after you've seen how NES mode plays, then do what you feel is best.

Your plan seems good to build your personal experience and knowledge of the game. Bear in mind that for VH1, you will have to start a new character to change your Difficulty settings; only VH2 has the option in-game.

Hardcore Mode at the higher Difficulty settings is quite a tough challenge, but I wouldn't say it's madness. You'll have to be quick and play smart with alot of finesse. I suggest a couple of Heroic Difficulty playthroughs with regular characters before attempting a Hardcore-Heroic character though. You'll want to have some good starting equipment, and a solid understanding of the game before attempting such a challenge.

Yes, that is true. Well, I will start hardcore character on normal difficulty or heroic without hardcore mode :)
I will not do for a hero.
Just tell me, maybe you know, which character is the best for beginner ?

Steam achievements are counted together for all the characters which i played ?

I found that a melee Hunter(Tank or Mystic Warrior builds) is typically good for beginners, but is more difficult to use for some players attempting Hardcore games. It gives players a solid idea of how mnsters act and what the maps and quests are like, without forcing the player to adapt to extremes such as low max health or excessive Skill management. It's probably the easiest character class/build to learn the game on.

Mostly, ease or difficulty of play will depend upon what you personally prefer and become good at. If you like to think ahead, play with crowd control and debuffs or kite groups of monsters, then a ranged Hunter or Thaumaturge might be easier. If you like pets and having others do your dirty work, then the Arcane Mechanic will be easy. Or, if you don't like the fancy dancing and just want to wade in and pound on things, then a melee Hunter is probably the easiest for you.

As for achievements: All of the count-requirement achievements progress across all play-throughs. The rest are also account based, so you can use multiple characters to achieve all of them at your leisure. The only specifics of note are the "I'm Hardcore" which of course require a hardcore character, and "Higher Learning" which, due to some bugged Auras that had to be permanently removed early in the game's life, now requires the Thaumaturge class to complete.

So yes, acheivements are counted across all characters you play.

Very very thanks you.
You wrote so much, very thanks :)
Last question. If I finish the game, can I start another campaign with current hero for example 27 level ?

Glad to be of service. :) lol, most of the time I get told I'm a windbag who writes walls'o'text.

You can play a new campaign in NeverEnding Story mode with your current hero, but you cannot restart the regular story campaign you just finished with that same hero. NES is basically the same as regular story campaign, just with harder monsters and no character levels. You can still gain Glory levels and customize your character through those, however, so NES does have decent rewards for the increased difficulty.

Thank you very much :)
You have opened my eyes. For start i will take a new hero in normal difficulty.

Have a nice day :)

Thanks a lot.
I had hunter with ranged attack, He was amazing, but i have been killed next to well wishes, because monsters have blocked me. I could kill everything with a distance.

I actually attained level 30 without enabling the respawn option but I did complete all the missions (even the secret ones such as the statue / gem quest). I think that option is mainly for farming so that you can have better / the best weapons.

Thanks but i have completed this game maybe 7 times :D
