Hunter with guns = impossible at low level and on a difficulty level higher than hard
lol... I do almost all of my environmental and quest bug testing while on a ranged Hunter build. I currently have nine characters of various levels using this type of build.
It took me 230+ hours to make through the game, with my self-imposed rules that is (without respeccing, without rage / power-ups, without using items and skills that contradict my rules).
But it's not impossible, it just require patience and careful (complementing, i.e. not random) character-development.
I have all classes.
It was for the OP, aka newbie at the game point of view.
Pumping all the point into body and bashing, or walling behind an army of pet is much easier at the beginning. Even the Thaum have just to draw a line, and everything burn in the flames.
Early game, the Ranged hunter is poor in gameplay and tacticality (we can even argue late game, too. Scattershot is godly, but is a I-win button that great?). It lack tool, a single target slow is not enough, and kiting forever is tedious and unfun.
No need to be condescending..."lol...".
Oh, when I choose to be condescensing, there'll be no mistaking it. The belligerence is unnecessary. I just found it amusing that players think it's a difficult build, while I use the build for bug testing-- where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong every single time.
The reality is that none of the builds are harder than one another. It all comes down to experience and practice. Start small and work your way up.
START
Melee = easy
Mechanic = easiest with pets
Thaumaturge = average - hard
Hunter with guns = impossible at low level and on a difficulty level higher than hard
END
Melee = why everything kills me with two hits =(
Mechanic = ♥♥♥♥ summons
Thaumaturge = Eh eh you can kill me (if you can come through this poison lake and that nice sun bim... Oh wait - you cant move cause i STOPPED TIME. Hahahaha!)
Hunter with guns = COME ON! Why you die with one shot?! I thought you was elite monster!
The quote button is the little arrow on top of a post fyi.
Also, stop playing on easy, or with ultra leveled char.
On higher difficulty level, with no CC or big damage, ranged hunter is the weakest of the bunch. You just have to do a bit of forum digging to see that i(s more than an opinion.
Sure, my hunter ranged is ez mode even on highest difficulty, so much DPS through scatter shot and poison shot, insane healin and maan per hit, i just spend my time button pushed.
unfortunately, that's not the case when you start.
At the date of post, The OP had 4H gameplay. You all seems to forget that, and, also, that you have experience of the game, and you know what to do, how to do, how to distribute points / persk / skill. Wich help.
Ray of destruction + Arcane damage bonuses = Faceroll build.
