Game crash on startup
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I've been attempting to play lately and every time I click play it goes through the startup motions, black screen, unique loading curser (little hour glass) but then it mysteriously stops working, no error code, no nothing. It leaves me with the option to perform Debug or close program. I'm currently using Windows 10, any support or friendly pointers to where I can find information on this would be most appreciated.

One of these will be almost guaranteed to fix it. Try them one at a time, in the order listed. If none of them work, then go to the Tech Support forum and use the Search bar for "Windows 10 Crashes". There are a couple of other less common issues that could cause the problem.


For black screen upon start

- Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing\InstallUtils

- Find the two "vcredist" executables. Double-click and run them one at a time.

- Try the game.

Directions for Verifying the Local cache files for "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing":

- Exit the game completely.

- Right click "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing" in your Steam Library(ctrl+click for Macs)

- Go to "Properties" in the drop-down menu. Click it.

- Go to the Local Files tab and click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

- Let the program run. This may take up to five or ten minutes.

- Once the program finishes, close your Steam Browser.

- Fully Exit Steam by right-clicking the icon in the Toolbar and selecting "Exit" in the dropdown.

- Restart Steam

A full computer Reboot may be needed after each File verification attempt. You might need to attempt the verify two or three times for it to stick. Check between each attempt to see if it worked.

- Start Regedit by using the Run command and type in regedit, then hit Enter.

- Find the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NeoCore Games\Van Helsing\Options

- Find the parameter MeasuredHardwarePerformance, and set it to 0.

You may also need to Verify the local files cache as well.

i found every step, but i couldnt find the last step when u say > - Find the parameter MeasuredHardwarePerformance, and set it to 0... i dont see that option at all on my cpu in that list..can u PLEASE help me..thank u in advance
