Subsurface Mines Disappeared

I started a new multiplayer with my friend with custom settings. We discovered many different mines (Iron, Gold, and Nickel), but they all disappeared while we were working to get towards harvesting them. I'm not sure the reason behind it. We never mined the resources and no scavs were harvesting them either. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Did only the signs of dissapear or could they not be found after the signs dissapeared?
The vanishing of signs is by design. So that after you used a vein up, the geologist can place a new sign on it that says its empty or possibly another ressource could be close.

So I was able to have my geologist rediscover the mine and have my mines start collecting the ores. However, my mines stopped collecting resources after some time saying there was no resources in the area. Since there is no indication on how much resources are in the mine, I am not sure if this issue is similar to my original problem or the mine is depleted. If the issue is the latter one, then that means the mines have little resources (the mines weren't collecting for that long). The sign is still in place to indicate the resource too. I wish there was more data provided with the mines,

The signs dont vanish together with the resources underground. They have their own "lifespan".
It can happen that you are just a bit unlucky with the underground deposit and its only a very small one.
When you hover over the signs, they will tell you if its a big, medium or small vein.
