I had hoped Valve's new VR headset would be released by now but that didn't happen so now my choice is between finding a wireless setup solution, which this is, or buy a new cable which might fail before their new VR headset makes an appearance and then I have to pay another 140€.
Also I would be able to get rid of my cable management so that's a bonus.
Valve is dragging their feet to bad....im gonna wind up just getting a quest 3
Hell, I still have my DK2, and look at where Oculus is now? ♥♥♥♥ gets better with time.
Lemme tell ya sumpsin sparky pants.....I have a vive 1 and pro with wireless adapter.....a quest 2 and 3.....The tracking on the quest 2 and 3 works perfectly fine minus the the occlusion from putting the controllers behind you which is an issue 0.003% percent of the time.....the color saturation of the vive is better.....NOT BY MUCH and not 600 dollars better.......Ive used an index and wasnt impressed enough to change from my vive pro. I only play vr wirelessly which limits my options and right now my quest 3 makes me 98% happy as my daily driver for pcvr. It has a much sharper picture than my vive pro and an index at the cost of some color saturation.......which im willing to live with for the clarity.......theres no excuse to charge 500 dollars for this thing......The quest was able to accomplished more than good enough visuals with 200mbps bandwidth.......theres no reason they couldnt have made a perfectly serviceable wireless adapter using less than a few gigabytes per second in bandwidth using existing wifi 6 tech......instead they used expensive 6e tech for bragging rights and marketing
both the visuals and the tracking are a ton better on a meta 3. I have both and the index is ass in comparison. however I use a bigscreen now still the tracking is ♥♥♥♥ on my index controllers vs. meta 3. Turning off haptics on my index helped the tracking but then there is no haptics........
wireless is better than the vive wireless by far with a puppi device. almost unnoticed latency. I still win at pavlov...
Index has better sound but I have no problem hearing my meta 3 and if meta spying on you bothers you get rid of windows it has a key logger dude. I do turn mine to the corner of the room when not in use. I don,t VR porn so it,s not a problem. LOL
As far as Meta/Facebook never going to happen again after the Oculus CV1 screwups. They were watching live streams of people using their device and got caught at it for crying out loud.
