*Spoilers* Which side did you go with?
So siding with the Demons is just the objectively best decision right?

I've played through both branches and everything seems a lot worse if you side with the Witches, Ba'el is out, we'll get no more help from him, Lucius is understandably pissed and we made him look weak in front of all the realms and may have cost him his oldest friend.

Meanwhile if you side with the Demons, Ba'el is willing to actively help us in future, he actually gives us a way to summon him if we get in too much trouble, Lucius reaffirms both his alliance and his personal strength to anyone who was watching (we also got an epic battle scene) and whilst Leyala is a bit annoyed at us, she calms down quickly (to the point that you can easily make up every point you lost with her by the end of the episode).

Having checked the walkthrough, (did a couple of blind playthroughs first), and I'm not giving any real specifics for those who prefer to be without it, it looks like there will be at least a couple more consequences of this coming down the line later, with all (outside of relationship points with Leyala and Seraphina) of the currently stated consequences for siding with the Demons being positive and all the currently stated consequences of siding with the Witches being negative.

I literally just got to that choice in the game and without playing it through yet, I will agree with you that the "best" solution with the information I have would be to go with the demons as well. In both the long and short term seems like the logical choice. However, we have a lot of realms left to go through, so who honestly knows if maybe siding with the witches will help more in the future in another realm than the demons would.

Either way I'll play both options and leave a save for each of them (thank god for named saves), and see what happens in the future through both paths. I'm sure the dev has something planned for those who go the witch path, but right now who knows what it will be.
It was really a no question choice for me. I went with the demons and honestly felt more irritated with Leyala for questioning MC's ruling prowess. She is naive and it showed so strongly in these scenes. Frustrating but good writing for making me so annoyed.

I nearly went with the Demons because of the prominent display of friendship between Lucius and Ba'el, despite not seeing each other for centuries. Lucius said the "youngsters" needed to form their own alliance with the Demons, or Ba'el will end his friendship.

But Lucius also trained his daughters in diplomacy and said to Atlas if any harm comes to them, he would kill Atlas without hesitation. Well, the daughters unanimously wanted to side with the Witches, and I did not want to hurt them, so that is the option I chose.

The choices seem quite black and white but honestly I just hope they will all kiss and make up, then the boundaries will dissolve when Chapter 3 arrives.

Never ever make deals with Demons... You always come off worse no matter how nice they may seem..

Just letting people know Vampires are also Demons..

I have a playthrough with each side ready for realm 3 in case its needed.

But yeah with the information we currently have it does seem like demons would be the better choice. Never know if things could change in the future.

I sided with the witches as I have never been much of a fan to demons

I think it comes down to where Atlas's true loyalties lie. With his king/mentor or with his co-rulers/mates. With the current king, or with those who would suceed him. Logically loyalty to your actual ruler should obviously take priority, but we all know Atlas doesn't always think logically when it comes to the people he loves.

Personally I think he would side with his mates for the same reasons Lucius changed his entire way of ruling once he met Effie. Being mated changes your priorities. She (or in Atlas's case They) comes first. No matter the consequences. I think if anyone could understand that it would be Lucius. Even if it's to his detriment in this instance.
