Is Ella the creature that mutated the main character? I watched some vids on the endings and there's no wiki, nor are there analysis vids. Exactly what happened to make Ella change? Was the main character unconscious after falling for a long time or something? Could someone share what her Notes say?

Obviously spoilers but this is the general gist of things:

You fall when the bridge collapsed and pass out for over a month or so. People, and especially Ella search for you, while the Vile starts to infect people, including Ella (how, not sure, just an unfortunate disease spread by rats previously experimented on by Dr. Crow, the nutjob that they are). She eventually does find you, when she's starting to lose herself a bit, gathering food for herself and you, having likely cared for you while unconscious as you'd be dead otherwise. By the time you wake up, she's become the creature in the cave, trying to stop you from leaving her and infecting you in the process (possibly not intentionally, she just wants her friend).

Gathering all the notes (I imagine, didn't find the cave until I had all 5 notes), you can return to the cave and get the ending where you stay with Ella.
