I could say it's just a mirrored lens pointing back at our smearing shared sense of culture and identity, but that's not even that true - there are popular works with amazing visual verve happening fairly regularly. Blade Runner 2049, Dune, Oppenheimer, Elden Ring, Inside, Baldur's Gate 3 ... all these memorable (and popular!) works of visual mastery that stick in the mind, y'know?
so making your game or your movie look brown, plain and unspectacular seems to me like an expressly efficient way to make sure it gets ignored and then forgotten, especially when it's so similar to OTHER things doing that same thing. it all blends into an unspectacular puddle of mud(d).
and it's a choice. and they make it look that way on purpose. it's not an accident and it's really, really bizarre how often it seems to happen with fantasy or sci-fi. especially remakes.
hey -- maybe it's absolutely amazing, and PC Gamer are nuts. it's happened before, it'll happen again. but those before / after photos on this one are seem mostly urine-filtered. blurg.
man, go play fortnite and dont judge games made for mature players...
Just play the original then? Why would you pay $20 for a remake where the only difference is the visuals, just to then revert the visuals to the original graphics? Lol
Yeah it looks terrible.. yeah....
I mean, it does look nice to me, I don't know.
If you like the original, nobody is taking it away from you.
But I have nothing against remasters. Actually there are many games that I'd like to get one.
It should be like 5 bucks. That's what Ori did. It was a great move.
So there is actual discount for the owners of the original, albeit small.
It looks good actually!
Sarcasm detected? Yeah looks pretty good to me. Still not really sure this game needed a remake but it looks nice for what it is.
Bad, because it is the same game? Well, then Dead Space remake must be terrible too...
