Lifetime Grand Master Membership of classic TSW can't transfer. How serious is Funcom with lifetime memberships?
Just as the title says, it is not possible (anymore?)

I was never aware of any expiration date and the first FAQ I read never mentioned any expiration date.
That is a huge disappointment - and these are my firendly words for such customer treatment, because they obviously stopped development of classic TSW in favor of TSWL. Therefore it makes no sense for any of the lifetime memberships to expire in availability for transfer - at least not so very soon.

Please reopen transfer of Grand Master lifetime TSW memberships and keep it open until 1 year since the transfers have started.
What's the point of a lifetime membership, if the publisher uses dirty tricks to make it expire and continue developing a different "copy" of the game? Now is the moment when Funcom has to show what their interpretation of lifetime is.

As it is, any lifetime membership for any Funcom Game looks like a big risk, because they can cut you off from your membership whenever they please..
How serious does Funcom take lifetime membership? The next months will give us their answer.

GM membership transferred during the First Transfer, but isn't available for the Second Transfer. Technically it hasn't expired since you can still use it in TSW, it just doesn't apply to SWL (which they consider to be a new game). I hope they do re-enable it for you guys though, as GM was expensive and was meant to be lifetime.

A Funcom GM resolved it for me and now I have lifetime Patron membership. No transfer of currencies or anything else - but that is fine and from my point of view fair.

The vanity transfer is a bit tricky and if one doesn't triple check if you are ready for it, you will miss out clothing items, sprints or pets that have been bought. Currently the vanity transfer is announced to be available forever.... we will see how long that will last.

It is not a new game if you asked me. In other games (especially MMOs) this process is called revamp. So far it looks well done.

Back to topic: A Public announcement regarding transfering Grand Master lifetime memberships into lifetime Patron membership would be appropiate. I may have been the first GM player returning late, but I doubt that I will be the last.

As a Funcom Grandmaster I feel cheated, I transfered the day before the expanded character slots were withdrawn but those were just fluff, I never developed more than one character beyond Kingsmouth. Where I feel cheated are:

1) The purchased items which did not transfer and for which no compensation was given, e.g. Nassier's Groovy Gun, and the paid sprint, Frankenchopper, was given to everyone, free, which makes the 'replacement' for it given to those who purchased it, pointless, and not really a replacement.

2) Not getting any assistance from Funcom with transfering clothing which I didn't figure out how to do until after my 2nd attempt to transfer vanity items.

3) No replacement mechanic for the 1200 Funcom Points / month received as a grandmaster, some might argue that the exchange works and it is thus not needed, however, the exchange is a benefit everyone gets, not a replacement for the Grandmaster Bonus points and, the exchange doesn't work with the current exchange rate which is highway robbery and the Patron % bonus to Merks of Favour isn't enought to make the current exchange rate any less highway robbery. Note: current exchange rate is 180-195:1

The FrankenChopper can be earned again very easily.

Yes, it is a bad trade for former GM, but initially I got NOTHING - not even Patron...
Right now I do enjoy the Patron Perks and I'm ok with what I got. It could be worse. I do miss the Bonus coins to spend on an actual MP.
I use the Bonus Marks of Favour to trade in for Aurum.
