Secret World Legends
Any other games like SWL?
Heya!
Looking for something equally SWL with dark atmosphere, deep lore, myths, conspiracy theories, Lovecraftian vibes. (Please no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like FF14 no offense - just my personal issue )
Ideally an MMO or Co-op experience, but i'm open to single-player too

"Control" has deep lore based on myths and conspiracy theories.

Thanks a lot! Will try it )
Highly recommend the Alan Wake games and Quantum Break too, they tie in to the Control universe and are also very well written.
I won't blame you if you don't think this is a serious response, but I swear to you Marvel's Midnight Suns is like if there was a Secret World single player Tactical RPG that was in development but which acquired the rights to use Marvel characters shortly before launch, and then quickly re-wrote everything. I got it for free at Epic awhile back and it's just uncanny how perfect a Secret World game it would be if it didn't have all these easily recognizable super heroes in it. It's got equivalents for Agartha, filth, Lilith, Emma, the same exact combat system of builders and consumers adapted to card game form, blood magic, chaos magic, elementalism, pistol, blade, fist and (briefly) shotgun. And lots of occult lore. And a bunch of Marvel characters making things less cool, but if you stick to Hunter, Blade, Ilyana and Nico and dress them in red, they could totally pass for a Templar cabal.

I genuinely think Funcom should inquire if Firaxis would sell them the game code at a reasonable price. It would not take many people to quickly adapt this game to Secret World, other than producing new art assets.

Check "The Sinking City" - Has exactly what you are looking for. Singleplayer open-world that is heavily inspired by Lovecraft lore. Allthough it does have fighing, the gameplay focuses on investigating (and Story)

Thanks! Alan Wake is really good game ( didn't try Alan Wake 2 yet tho)
Quantum Break - added to my library :)
Maybe try Once Human?

It has the modern setting and creepiness that SWL has, though not as good as TSW is in my opinion on that. It's also an MMO.

I suspect that Funcom has found that toxic masculinity is more profitable than good stories.

It's a shame, I was an Evercrack addict and played most of the MMOs up to FF14, but the only MMO's I'll return to every now and then are Funcom's Anarchy Online and The Secret World/Secret World Legends.

Toxic masculinity? I think you should quit the internet and wash your brain of whatever brainrot you got from twitter before its too late
Something tell me you are one of those insecure offended internet dweller who are afraid of Conan lmao
I'm not sure but I think you might like Death Stranding.
+1 to The Sinking City
hmm i second vampires the masquerade bloodlines.
the FIRST deus ex might also be to your liking!
Game isn't 1:1 a solid comparison though the vibe is quite neat, Once Human is great although a few dislike the seasonal feature of the game.
Otherwise it would sorta have a vibe that is Funcom.
yup, I played the sinking city and although its a different theme and setting but you solve mysteries that lead to the great mystery (trying not to spoil it here), I found the playability very similar and enjoyed it quite a lot. It's singleplayer btw
