Secret World Legends

Games similar to Secret World
So I really love the stlye, the setting, the lore and espescially the quest design in The Secret World. But unfortunately I can't stand the combat at all. It feels stale, undynamic and unfitting for the setting. I mean very often you fight zombies, you should be able to headshot them and be done with it. I just think the classic mmo rpg powers-assigned-to-number-buttons combat doesn't fit.

I think this would work so much better as a third person shooter, even with melee and magic. There are games that manage this. But since that isn't the case, there's really no point discussing this.

So what I'm really asking is, are there any third-person-shooters (preferably open world) that come close to the setting and overall style of the secret world?

Only one I can think of is Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines. It's not a shooter, though, just one of the best RPGs of all time.

Yeah I heard a lot about it, it's just so old, have to check if it even runs on Win10 xD

And the setting has only some similarities. But I might try it out.

Not a real shooter and not open world, but a very nice 3rd person action/adventure with a Stephen King / TSW-ish kind of story is: Alan Wake.

Vampire Masqurade bloodlines is a first person game...I don't think there third person or atleast dont remember any.
I personaly perfer first person game not first person shooter i hate first person shooter there extremly lame and boring but i like first person rpgs like skyrim or fallout 3 but not fallout 4 i wont ever buy fallout 4 every thing i read about that game just dosnt intrest me cause of the terrible minecraft and crafting elements and lack of freedom and rpg elements too much fixed limited story and preset elements in fallout 4 for me to be intrested in buying it.

Any ways i like the games combat it seems to fit and its fun love the class customisation and love the game over all great story simple stright forward combat and freedom to customize your class and your outfit for fashion for the win I love fashion! =)

Yeah I really like the game, almost everything about it, it's such a shame that combat (at least to me) is so absolutely boring and tedious. And since it's still a huge part of the game, it makes a huge part of the game boring and tedious. I've tried it for a long time, again and again. It's just that at some point I cannot stand it anymore.
Hm seems like there isn't really a comparable game as a third person shooter out there. Or the right person with an awesome insider tip just hasn't come along yet. ;)

I have tried to find a MMORPG with a similar lore ever since TSW went rip in kill, but I couldn't find anything remotely close in days of searching.

1 - VTMB has a third person view, and it is definitely not a shooter of any kind. But the gameplay is still reminiscent of what's in Secret World.
2 - If you do buy it, buy it on GoG.com - that version is fully patched and ready to go and will work on Windows 10 without issue.

I also second Alan Wake, that game has some really amazing writing and very many memorable moments.

ok thx for the tip guys. guess I'll have to put up with the combat and enjoy the rest.

Keep an eye out for Vampyr. It's a promissing horror rpg comming out early 2018.

Hard to find anything compared to TSW.

But VtM:B is one of the best games I've ever played. I played it numerous times.

Also Alan Wake was quite good. Unfortunately you can*t buy it on Steam anymore due to music licensing.

Hello. No. There is none. A Shooter never will be a Roleplay game. But if you like shooters then COD WW II actual is the best. This remake.

Mass Effect.
And the Deus Ex games.
And... CoD WW2 should never be recommended as "the best" of anything...
