All that having been said, I wouldn't expect any significant content updates to any of these games. The return on investment for the production of story content, particularly on the quality level expected in Secret World, isn't going to be there. But they like having these games in their overall portfolio, and all past evidence suggests they'll keep the servers plugged in indefinitely. If Secret World gets the Anarchy Online treatment, it'll still be going in 2031.
Whereas in Wildstar's case, the entire developer was shut down by its Korean parent company NCSoft, which has shut down 6 other MMOs as well. They have a different corporate philosophy because they have a conveyor belt of new MMOs constantly being produced, and apparently think the old ones are parasitic to the new ones.
(I'm dreaming a bit yeah)
At that point and at any moment I hoped for one thing. To Funcom do single player RPG game set in Secret World universe. Hell I'd buy it if they even simply re-made Secret World "MMO" into a single player game, with some changes in mechanics and no changes to the story nor quests.
Though I hope for some new game set in that universe, still single player RPG.
They should really just do this. The old game just felt more complete (not sure why that was, considering it has less story content I think?). Maybe it was the fact that you would actually have to go to shops etc to buy clothes instead of just grabbing them from the menu only wardrobe stuff etc we have now with Legends.
The Conan license is pretty safe too.
(yes some things could do with overhauls; same is true for many other games)
