Launch Game. Game launcher will popup. Go to Options. Click on "Full Client" check box so it checked. After that it should download all of the game. Also after, click on Repair Broken Data. Other options is to run it in DX9 and settings in Medium. You can tweak it later after that.

It could be that the game is downloading map data at the same time. I cant say for sure, but i know you dont download the full game initially as it gives you the option to download on the fly.

Just a possibility.

I'm having the same problems on a very similar system build. I will try what 1057 has suggested. Thanks!

Server is in USA I believe so fast internet connection is a must. When I upgraded my connection from 1 Mbps to 160 Mbps the lag pretty much disappeared.

My game runs great now that I downloaded the full client. No more stuttering and lag. Thanks again 1057!!
i have tried to get the game to run at 30fps.
my grand old dame evga gtx 760 with 4gigs of ram on the card will actually run the game at 60fps but even after cleaning the fans and the heat sink fins [they didn't have a lot of fuzz in them in them before the cleaning] the fans on the card sound like a fully loaded osprey hovering well above the grounf effect.
ok maybe only loaded half full, but still roaring.
i know the CPU is not having a problem, 4790K i7 and it's got 32 megs of system ram to run in.
so i have liiked in config files for an entry that looks like it might change things, didn't find it.
i used the nvidia control pannel to try to tell it to run at half the refresh rate og the monitor.
i have dropped the refrash rate of the monitor to 30hz.
so far nothing will lower the FPS.
trurning all the graphics setting to lowest at least lowers the temp enough the that fans are slightly less than full blast.
i run fallout 4, black desert, shroud of the avatar, star citizen, entropia and others all at 30 fps.
some of them needed gentle yet firm convincing to slow to such a rate.
so i'm asking just what sweet words i need to whisper in the ear of this game to get it to slow down.

It's kindof funny that GPUs that are faster than any that existed when TSW first launched still can't run the game smoothly.

It's like Ark taken to a new level.
