What is the best dps gadget?
Got to 50 and have some good gear but all the gadgets seem pretty useless.

Purge and impair gadgets are useful. The Vali Stim, especially at gold (2 primary 1 secondary energy) is nice. Superluminal Bridging is handy. The Sedative hinder aoe gadget is useful for HR 5.

That's just top of the head.

It depends...I mainly use two gadgets with my character. For when I do the slaughterhouse dungeon the Electromagnetic stabilizer is a MUST...if you don't want to have to wait out "unbreakable" shields on the first three bosses.
For normal pve and pvp I run another gadget (of which I forgot the name), that applies a 70% slow and reduces the enemy damage for 20%...as dps a lifesafer, when things go south.
There is at least one that cleanses multiple debuffs, which I luckly never needed since I have a good cleanse skill.

Basically I use gadgets to give me abilities I do not have so that I can react to more situations or counter enemy behaviour

Really depends on what dungeon it is, if you have an experienced regular group to run content with that knows eachother well, and the weapon choices you go for.



Typically, the main choices would be, in order of usefulness:

1) Vali Metabolic Accelerator - for extra energy on demand;

2) Electromagnetic Destabilizer - for purges (situational, depends on group, does a bit of extra damage);

3) Improvised ECT Instrumentation - for stuns/impairs (again, situational, depends on if your tank is on top of his job or needs some extra help)

4) Phoenician Support Stratagem - for removing crowd control effects. Right now there's few situations where you'll want this but as you reach E5 and start doing specific content it's nice to have just in case.





Extra mentions:

Rapid Engagement Module - If you need to get close to the target quickly (pretty good for melees). It does pretty considerable damage and doesn't trigger Global Cooldown so you can time it with another ability pretty much in the exact same second, pretty good for a bit of extra damage once in a while or when you start fights.

Pulsed Energy Emitter - Stuns targets in an AoE. This might be, by far, the best utility gadget for Soloing content or in fights that require a lot of add management. It roots targets in an AoE and also interrupts most of their casts. If you move behind them after having activated this they won't be able to turn and attack you since they are rooted facing the other way, hence the added utility and survivability.

Following the last one, we got Sedative Delivery System - A more situational (and in my opinion worse) version of the Energy Emitter, it reduces enemy's movement by 70% in an aoe and applies debilitated. The only reason why you'd want this over the Emitter would be for the debil effect, but then again with Emitter you can negate all damage by simply moving behind the enemy after having activated it, so....... yeah...
