This username is already in use

What is wrong with account creation ? There is no way the three usernames I tried have been taken by anybody else.

Any help on this would be great.

New player no old accounts no TSW account.

Can you please post what you're trying? The two big reasons why you might get this error are if you're trying to use a name that is already "taken" by an NPC, or because it doesn't pass the swear filter (this might actually be a separate error).

It seems the issue is that I have a very old Funcom account, and I am able to log into https://register.thesecretworld.com/account/subscription/ctrl/create/tsw with the account but I can not create a TWS char.

Forgt it I am deleting the game and using my time to play other games.

I am slightly confused.
To understand correctly, you DO have a "The Secret World" account, but it does not allow you to make characters in "The Secret World" (not "Secret World Legends")?

No I do not have a TSWL or SWA account and it will not allow me to use the names I already have registered at Funcom, however when I log into Funcom I am loged into "The Secret World" web site.

The system is FUBAR.

If you can log into the regular TSW website, aka this one: https://register.thesecretworld.com/account

Then you already have a SWL account and do not need to create a new one. Use the same account info to log into this one: https://account.secretworldlegends.com/

No I can log into Funcoms website and then use the link to go to the TWS site which then has me loged in.

I can not log inot TSW directly.

Then you already have a SWL account and do not need to create a new one. Use the same account info to log into this one: https://account.secretworldlegends.com/

Incorrect I do not have an account with SWL and never have had, and I am unable {as expected} to log into the game using my Funcom account names.

Once again thier system is FUBAR.

I have now wasted far to much time in the games forum, but thanks for your help.

Soooo, you don't have a specific SWL account inside your Funcom account but you do expect them to reserve your username(s) in every game they publish. Then you insult the guy who points out that you seem to misunderstand how a game account system works.

The trick with the brain is the same as with a computer: turn it on first.
