Failed to authenticate with character server.

Hi. I clicked the play now button and waited for it to load until "Failed to authenticate with character server." came up. Tried multiple times, still the same error.

got that too.....deinstalled steam and funcom client...made a CClean incl registry, reinstalled via steam...same problem

stuck on connecting to authentication server server wont get to char screen after start if push exit game the secret world legends TSWD11LiveWin32 tsw_2.1@574392 (32 bitar) wont even close it self need to force close it self. so same here to

i've tried disabling my AV and firewall, still couldn't get through.

2 days ago i have a chat with the operator from live chat. he said that it was caused by multiple log in, he said wait several minute before logging back. VPN also affects this. One of them mentioned about playing it from funcom account. Despite all that, the problem still happens to me.

Is it because of the ISP?

This is an error I have had for the past week. Just clicky again and it'll work...at least it does for me the second time, every time.

Have you checked your firewall settings and made sure it's allowing SWL client?

i allowed every single SWL applications

Go into client.exe properties and check Run As Admin to ensure it always runs in that mode.
Have you tried using the Funcom standalone client or just thru Steam?
Have you connected/linked an old account to Steam SWL version?

Ran everything as admin, still couldn't get through.
Linked old account to steam, so only ran through steam.

tried tunnelbear, got "cannot connect to the login server, please check your connection or firewall" error instead.

it happened to me too, but only once and then i got stuck in the world map loading screen. At this stage i spend 7 hrs without playing it.
