TSWL choice of faction

Does it really matter what faction you choose in TSWL? I'm jumping into it with some friends and we aren't sure if we can each pick different factions. I know we meet up in the hub for grouping but how would it work via story?

You can play most missions together. Don't think you can do the "story" mission's instances in a group. Not sure about ordinary instances.

It changes what cabals you can join, and importantly it changes the messages you get at the end of each mission.

If you want to have the funniest/best ones. Go illuminati

If you want to feel like a champ every time you complete stuff. Go Templars

If you want to learn the actual truths about reality, like the underlying ♥♥♥♥ for why things happen. Go Dragon.

That said you learn a ton of background details from each faction. Illuminati tend towards modern/current events, while Templar often explain history, Dragon is just freaking -weird- most of the time, but they'll tend to reveal things that the other two factions completely missed.

... and one small thing. If you're not a Patron [mail delivery anywhere / anytime], the convenient Post Office is in London [Templars].

But otherwise... the Illuminati have the best lines ^_^. It was always fun to get texted by them.

It's also in Agartha, which is easier to access for everyone than London is.
