basic help
I had read somewhere that they tried to make the tutorial better...not sure how well they've done, or how stupid I am. I played about 40 hours of Secret World when it first came out.

Got to the quest where I get my 2nd weapon (the Tokyo subway thing)...but I can't figure out how to swap weapon sets. I am a Merc, with main assault weapon, and 2ndary claws. It told me to take a claw ability, so I took the healing one. However, I'm trying to figure out how to create a claw weapon set without changing the Assault Rifle weapon set. I can put the claw active in my Q spot, but then I have grenade in my 2nd slot. I could put my heal in the 2nd slot, but then it seems like I have to fiddle constantly if I want to switch weapons.

Is there an easy way to swap weapons from Assault Primary to Fist Primary?

Right click them with your mouse?

Then right click or drag them to your spot you want.

Swap their slots in your Inventory/character sheet. Whichever is on the left becomes your primary.

In The Secret World / Secret World Legends, you are highly encouraged to equip and use two weapons at once. That means you'll have one Ability set-up at a time (up to 6 Abiliites in SWL IIRC), and it will be a mix of Weapon 1's abilities and Weapon 2's abilities. You don't have to switch weapons in combat, the game automatically does this for you when you activate that weapon's ability.

Thanks for the replies. I understand that's what they are going for...but I can't equip the 'basic' ability for both the Assault Rifle and the Claws. (it actually has a message that says I can only equip one primary move). So I can't build the energy for the Claw moves and the Assault Weapon moves at the same time. And in combat, who wants to open their inventory and swap their Primary and 2ndary weapons? Just seems like a pretty poor system to tell folks 'its cool you get 2 different weapons to work with' and then only let them build the energy for one by only allowing them to equip one builder move.

Read the skills.

Certain skills need the weapon to be primary, others do not.

I use Blood and Elementalism.

Fire Ball from Elementalism needs a primary weapon. Fire Bolt does not. I build Heat (Elementalism) and Corruption (Blood) without a problem.

You do not need to "Build Energy" any more - it regenerates automatically. Primary regenerates faster than secondary by default IIRC, and some weapons do have an ability to restore energy faster. There are no "Builders" in SWL.

Hmm...this is what it says about claws in the Secret World preview, and what it showed in the ingame video:

“Whenever you use any Fist Weapon ability, regardless of the results, you will gain an amount of Fury defined by the ability you chose. The exact amount of Fury gained can be found in the description of each ability. Once you have accumulated 60 Fury you can cast either of the two Primal Wrath abilities, if you have them equipped.

Casting either of the two Primal Wrath abilities will swap all of your equipped abilities for a new predetermined set of normally inaccessible abilities. These new abilities are more powerful than regular abilities, but you can only cast them until your Fury is spent. 20 points of Fury are consumed each second after a Primal Wrath ability is cast. When your Fury is depleted you will revert back to your normally equipped abilities. This means that you will always have at least 3 seconds of Primal Wrath, and up to 5 seconds with full Fury.”

I guess that just means I need to pick a non-basic ability to build Fury. Still, as I mentioned, it just seems odd that I have to swap primaries if I want to use the basic ability to build Fury.

You can switch your primary weapon if you want to use the basic Fist ability to build Fury. AR is fine as a secondary in that case, since how it loads grenades is random anyway and you will obviously get more consistent Fury gains by utilizing more Fist attacks.

Funny i actually get three abilities when i reach 60 fury not two and i believe with a passive i've unlocked a fourth.
