I have absolutely loved this game to pieces so far but that Rain Dance is straight up bollocks and doesnt belong here. I am terrible at rhythm games like DDR and its so unforgiving, I am about to just give up on the game

Dont give up....you dont need to get it all right..as long as you get a certain amount right...it lets you complete the rain dance

Takes a few tries, my up and down arrow keys are thinner than a regular keyboard since I am using a laptop. It is a bit difficult.

That's why I've quit playing it. I really enjoyed the game up to that point and I wish I could finish it but the frustration of never getting through the rain dance made the game as far from fun as it can get. It's unplayable for me. It literally had me grinding my teeth so hard I wouldn't have been surprised if I actually cracked a tooth had I kept trying to play it.

ETA: apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I came here hoping for tips or something to get past it and was disappointed to find none.

I was like you...just keep doing as much as you can..you do not ..need to do everything..it lets you complete even if you mess up the end...as long as you get so far on it..

But it's very easy. Only took me 3 tries. It's very short and you even can miss a two or three times.

Well, it's nice it's not been a stumbling block for you, unfortunately it's different for me. I may be young but I'm also living with arthritis problems before my time thanks to the gifts of genetics. It started in my teens and I'm in my 30's now so things have progressed a lot farther than I'd like. I've got degeneration in my spine and other joints where the cartilage has disappeared and every day I have to deal with the swelling, inflammation, and arthritis pain. With winter here, some days I can't bend my fingers, on some I can't straighten them, the stiffness, the pain, the swelling all play merry havoc with my reflexes and how dexterous I can be so this section of the game is quite difficult for me. Anything that requires precise timing seems to be forever beyond my abilities now. I get more of the sequences wrong here than I do right especially when it starts speeding up. So that's why I'm going to give you some unsolicited advice. Cherish the days your body doesn't betray you, for you never know how long that will last.

The game actually lets you pass after a few failed attempts. I am an older gamer and was as frustrated as you, nut it eventually gives you the lightning bolt without a 100% score.

Finish the game, you will truly appreciate the end result even though the couple of minutes spent at failing the rain dance will be frustrating.

A minigame of that kind does not belong into an adventure game, it broke the game for me and I stopped playing. Is there somewhere a savegame available, or a cheat code, to skip the f*ck*ng minigame?

It took some time for me too.
What I noticed was, even when the buttons were inside the brackets, I clicked the buttons too early, you really have to wait until they are close to the middle of it. Also you can fail up to 5 times and have to have like 10 or so right, but for a moment I wished too, if there was a skip button.

I also have bad arthritis but I got into the rhythm after a few attempts and managed to get through it

with my laptop keys it will register the left right combo and the right up combo but not the left up combo.........and i keep getting left up combos

AUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..... IT JUST WONT RECOGNISE LEFT UP COMBOS!!!!!!! and right + up doesnt always succede, left right always succedes I never miss that but because my up down keys are so small and so close.......
