Game crashing after load screen

Right click speaker in Windows taskbar, select Playback devices, disable all other devices except the one your are using (marked with a green icon).

Enable vsync (or smell the burning of your graphics card)

Open Ogre.cfg with Notepad, find VSync=No and change to VSync=Yes.

Laggy mouse cursor

Open config.xml with Notepad and add <hwcursor>true</hwcursor> BEFORE </config>.
It should look like this:
<hwcursor>true</hwcursor>
</config>
