Is there supposed to be subtitles in the cgi cutscenes like intro ?

Im not a fan of the Jak & Daxter /ps2 era lack of subtitles in the cgi cutscenes, is there supposed to be cutscenes or is there a option to get it ? since the cgi cutscenes screen seem a bit squished compared to the in-game/gameplay screen.

Yes, there is text on screen whenever there's dialogue, be it regular game play or during cut scenes.
