Transcending?
I've been trying to figure out what transcending is, but I'm still pretty confused. I know the answe r is probably really simple, but I still can't grasp it. Could someone explain it to me? I'm an Acolyte right now, and I wanna go monk. But I see I also have the option to go Champion as well. So will I have to level my Acolyte to base level 99 job level 50 so I can become a Champion, without ever changing to a monk? Or can I change to being a monk, get to level 99 and still be able to become a Champion?

Ugh...I really can't wrap my head around all this transcending stuff.

To become a champion you need first to hit base lvl 99 and job lvl 50 as a monk, then you can rebirth back to lvl 1 and lvl up all over again but when it's time to become a monk you will become a champion instead.

I'm not good explaining so you might as well check some guides:

Basically, transcending is when you rebirth and level all over again at 1/5th the exp rate about.

Let's say you want to be a monk.
You level your acolyte to job level 50, then change to monk class. You level monk class to level 99 job level 50. Then you rebirth at a level 1. You will have slightly different robes.
But this time you will be a high acolyte when you become one, then when you level to job 50, you will instead of being a monk, be a champion.

So basically,
Novice-->Acolyte-->Monk--MAGIC-->High Novice-->High Acolyte-->Champion
Then since this server has third job classes, once you become champion level 99/70, you can become a Sura and level that to 150. If you want.

Alternatively you can skip transcending entirely and become sura (3d job) after monk . However you won't gain some benefits and skills of champion that way.

In particular, you'll be missing the Zen skill that lets you summon all five spirit spheres at once in the time it would normally take to summon two, presuming you skip Champion. It's a pretty major gain when it comes to speed.
