Can't see friends?

My boyfriend and I were going to play, but no matter what we do we cannot see eachother, or message eachother, it just says we dont exist. Are there sub servers? Neither of us understand what is happening and have never encountered anything like this before. I find it hard to believe a MMO would not allow you to play with IRL friends/SO's. It is extremely frustrating, please help.

hi are you just starting iRO? Which server are you playing on? There are two servers Classic and Choas. Names must be typed exactly how you had it if you want to message or party them. Also the new izlude training ground has two channels so if you don't see him, he might be on the second channel. reply back if you need further help.

So, does everywhere in the game have two channels or just that particular place?

There's only 1 channel but for the izlude map to south prontera they have two channels. Channel 1 is the main game channel and channel 2 is the novice maps. For whatever reason the game glitches up and sends some new players to the main game while others get sent to the training grounds one. An easy way to fix this issue is by heading inside the izlude tool shop or prontera and it will send you to the main game map. This might be the solution to your problem if not please let me know.

hello, my friend and I tried this and it worked. However when we leave Izlude, we can't see each other again :(

You need to raise your character level to more than 10 (or must have already changed job from Novice I believe) so that the game won't throw you back to Channel 2 when coming from Izlude. From what I can remember, the field outside South Prontera also has Channel 2 for Novices, not just inside Izlude. Or try going inside Prontera itself, you should see each other there no matter the level/level gap.
