Application unable to start correctly 0xc0000142 - Ragexe.exe
I've downloaded and installed the game, restarted my computer and yet I'm still getting this error message.

I'm running on Windows 8. Any idea how to solve this ?

What antivirus program do you have? We have had some conflicts with some security programs like Avast.

I'm running on Bitdefender. Does it conflict with the game ?

Same here bitdefender, you need to go to setting on the shield tab, turn off active virus control and you are good to go.

Try running Ragnarok in Compatibility Mode

1) Right click Ragnarok
2) Click on Properties
3) Click on Compatibility tab
4) Select "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select Windows Vista or whatever OS

PS: Also "Run it as admin" xD. Hope this helps /no1

Turning off Active Virus control was the only method that worked for me.

It worked!!!! thank you very much mister Kaboom! I can now finally play ragnarok. :D
issue 0xc0000142 active virus scanning mode... Resolved!!!!
For Bitdefender users:

Open Antivirus home. (Show)
Antivirus tab Settings (Wheel)
Exclusions tab
Click Excluded Processes
Add all exe files from :(..\steamapps\common\ragnarok directory)
You can fin this directory in Steam Library... right click Ragnarok... Properties... Local Files tab... Browse Local Files

Then go to Steam Library... right click Ragnarok... Properties... Local Files... Browse Local Files
Execute both setup exe programs (filenames has setup word in it)
Set it to run at normal resolution and in full screen... do not try windowed... it bugs.

I was able to pass over the error with this.
