use /mineffect

I mean the game is 15 years old.....New computers don't always run old games optimally.

It's Steam that causes the FPS lag. Some kind of memory leak where the fps keeps dipping with every passing moment (or map transition).
Launch Ragnarok.exe/application from your pc without Steam. It runs perfectly without any fps/lag issue.
This seems like a common issue, hopefully folks having the same issue should be able to play normally with this.

type !vsync in game, by default RO clients are capped at 60fps, if you disable vsync by typing !vsync it will disable it and will use your video card graphics to its full capacity. Hope this help.

!vsync command does not exist in iRO (official). commands that start with ! or @ are private server commands which you cannot use.

regarding the emulating of voodoo graphics. dgvoodoo2 no longer works with the game due to Easy Anti-Cheat blocking the .dll files of the wrapper.
