The four nations have separate buffs and aesthetics. If you're planning on specializing in certain things, it would be in your interest to probably pick what's best for you:
(from the Wakfu forums):
"Amakna gives 15% extra earth dmg and 5% extra farmer exp
Bonta gives 15% extra air dmg and 5% extra lumberjack exp
Sufokia gives 15% extra water dmg and 5% extra fisherman exp
Brakmar gives 15% extra fire dmg and 5% extra miner exp"
Or maybe you'd prefer aesthetics? The nations look differently, and some pick just based on looks.
(From Wakfu Asia):
"Brakmar: Lava, lava everywhere.
Sufokia: Like London, the roads there don't make any sense.
Amakna: It's like a nation of countryside
Bonta: Greenery and natural hippy feeling everywhere."
And then the government...that depends on the group running them. I assume that's where the markets and such will be influenced. Seeing as I'm waiting on a friend before I jump in formally, I can't say anything there.
I believe picking a nation also influences part of the PvP (as nations can go to war, for reasons I'm unsure of yet). And of course, monsters, if you're looking for specific types (for whatever reason). But I think that's it. Again, hoping more experienced players can confirm/correct my informatino.
Not only will you pick up bonus exp for exploring each area, but you'll also be able to travel around those areas much easier in the future and you'll have seen what each one is like. Pick the one you'll enjoy the most regardless of population and such ;)
There is a money item that lets you do this once a week but there is no need really.
These damages bonuses have been changed. All nations give a total of 20% damage to all elements.
Note that you can visit any nation at any time, if you need resourses or gear from them.
Oh that's nice. So since all nations are identical in bonus to elements I guess now I'll just need to find the one that looks the best xD
Y U NO LIK FISH!!
I really need an official news page of this. A veteran player told me the same in-game. So doesn't it really matter anymore which Nation to choose? What difference are still there?
I chose Sufokia :P I like how it looks :D That's about the only reason and until that point I didn't know much about the nations and chose based on the icon for the nation and that it was nice and beachy :D
My friends and I picked Sufokia preciesly because it had low population. It's actually pretty nice to have room to grind stuff and not really be intruded upon, but you pass by enough people now and then to make it not feel isolated. Plus it's got a really nice beachy/island theme going on everywhere.
Nation only really matters for your guild and pvp. If you want to do pvp and youre in a brakmarian aligned guild you have to be a brakmarian yourself.
· There are 5 Nations
· Quest experience for Nation specific dungeons.
· Aesthetics
· 5% to a specific craft
· PvP: Each Guild must choose one Nation they follow, if it is not yours you cannot PvP unless its the Nation your Guild is allied with or you are in Nation number five, The Riktus (Bandits/Outlaws).
You can not PvP citizen of your own Nation.
What's the fifth nation btw, i thought there were only 4
So really guild is more important than nations, you can join a nation when you are asked to, or just wait till later until you might find a nice guild you like then see what their nation is if any.
