Then I lost them.
Wakfu is fun to play with people you get along.
It's also more fun when you're a kid, because after that there is no time to play long sessions.
I wish I could stay at my desk the whole day while playing Wakfu but I got things to do in real life man.
MMORPGs are for you if you're either a kid or a jobless millionaire.
Edit: frick real life man and its 24 hours a day, man. The sun, what does he want ?
now it just a bitter old game i am still lacking achievements on to 100%. (that FINALLY WORKS after almost a 3/4 decade of not working)
However, to me Wakfu wins over Dofus 2.0 by quite a bit, mostly because of the ecosystem mechanic, which depends on the players almost entirely.
Yes, some people will find it boring and frustrating to go look for trees and find none, but I actually enjoy some time planting them around and changing the enviroment step by step.
Then I go fight for some time (Eliotrop fighting is still fun, too bad the species don't go too far in the lore), and I can still enjoy every now and then a few hours.
Heck, I've come back recently, been playing a few hours yesterday and today, and was part of four teams, got three people added to play later with, and had quite a pleasant time.
Is it perfect? No, of course not. But it still has it's own charm.
Having to start doing dungeons to grind for better gear, not fun if you can't get players to join you and no guilds about doing the dungeons. The pvp system is horrible and eventually you get tired of that bad system also.
For me, i had lots of fun for a while with multiple characters up until i started reaching higher levels, and there just aren't any players about, you can't do higher level dungeons without 6 boxing it yourself, or actually finding an active guild that might be doing the ones you want. At that point solo play is pretty much finished and with no way to really multiplayer, its time to move on once your bored with solo playing.
But don't just skip the game for that, again there is a lot of fun solo playing you can do for a long time, just know up front your going to hit a wall at higher levels with no one about.
The worst part about this game is the forced "commitment". Nothing is casual anymore about it after Lv100+. Even for multiboxers who doesn't rely on other players to play dungeon, this game is getting very repetitive and tiresome after Lv100+. And the need to switch from account windows to windows just so we can easily play the dungeons with a full party controlled by ourselves is building up the fatigue fast as well.
And to make things worse, the game knowing its problem, started to add in the "Hero System" and tried to put pressure on the multibox players by changing a lot on how the market and items works (account/character locked) while on the other hand, the Hero system doesn't give you a full feature even when they asked for monthly payment. They only let you play 3 heroes with the pass (at the expense of Sidekick slots being taken) and that still resulted in a lack of 3 to form a full party. Yes, the system doesn't add more playable slots to your party, it simply let you use your alt on the sidekick's slot. Other than the Heroes have better stats than sidekicks, you don't get much advantages from it at all. When compared with other SRPG/TRPG out there, where they give you tons of characters (some more than you can ever use) and never asked a penny for using the characters you owned in a battle because it's a "core feature" of TRPG/SRPG, when we think about it, Wakfu is asking for money and locked a "core key feature" behind a "paywall", where they could have earn money by other methods... this kills the mood and fun as well as the final trust I have about this game company.
If Wakfu asked for money for each slot of a new character, and open up full 6 heroes to be play-able in the battle for free. I'd have loved the game a bit more and willing to pay quite a bit to open up a ton of the character slots just so i can enjoy more strategy play styles. But asking for monthly payment for a core feature and didn't even provide the thing in full service? Heck no!
Before someone jumped on to say "Hey! That may further kill the already dead Co-op play in Wakfu!", bear in mind that there are plenty of TRPG online that lets you manage your team while at the same time able to play in co-op where each player gets to send in a few characters (based on how many players available) in a totally flexible way. And FYI, It never took me more than a few seconds to get a group going in those games. It's do-able, and already been done and proven to work out there, no excuses on that part. Hero system + Sidekick is already doing a great job on that part, just not flexible enough for full solo player and still forced a co-op play in the end.
So bottom line, if you can't get a party going, you are either forced to pay for 2 accounts with hero system and doing 2 multibox windows game play, or if you don't want to pay monthly, will be forced to play 6 multibox windows game play, which can be super tiresome especially on switching windows with that timer thingy ticking and forcing you to act quick. What about 3 accounts with sidekicks? Well do-able at early stages, but the higher level you go the more lacking the sidekicks become, so in the end you will still be forced to level up 6 heroes to get a team going, and no, we can't to that in a single account due to that 2 slots limit on their "Sidekicks"/"Hero system"....
Dev: "It's too troublesome to change the UI and game codes to add more playable slots, that's why we reuse the Sidekick slots for the Hero System... We are not lazy, we are just resourceful and like recycling stuffs... We are eco friendly!"
