But I think its important to note that Im not able to even finish the tutorial with 16gb without a crash due to memory knowing that 16 is the listed minimum that should mean I should bare minimum be able to finish the tutorial with 16gb of ram. I mean its the tutorial we are looking at the very bare bones of the game to show how to do basics.
So Im a bit irritated by that since I cant really enjoy the game because Im tasks with feeling all around the UI to make things work which obviously loads tons of stuff and causes faster crashing memory warning because the game doesnt dump the last clothing and character and scenes loaded from the memory which adds up.
The issue is, as you say, that the game doesn't automatically unload unused clothing and looks. This makes them load faster if you do use them again, but can lead to crashes for users with 16GB or less of Ram.
First off, make sure you have your virtual memory set to "managed by windows" in your Windows user preferences. You can google how to do that. It allows windows to use your hard drive as extra memory when your RAM gets full. This wont eliminate memory related crashes, but it makes them much less common.
Second, you can manually clear unused items out of memory from time to time.
Here's how.

1) toggle the Vam UI on, if it's not visible.
2) Go into edit mode.
3) Click the "cycle select person" toolbar button.
4) Go to the "control & physics 1" tab.
5) Click the "Unload inactive objects" button.
Every time you hit the "cycle select person" toolbar button, the next person in the scene is selected. so repeat steps 3-5 for each person in the scene.
Hopefully a fix will come along soon. Until then, though, this will at least let you make it through the tutorials.
