Bug
Created a scene, tried different things and seemed to work okay. Saved that scene. Reopened the scene and now the trigger button on both controllers will not work to bring up or hide the vamx menu! Created another scene and got the same results! Am using a quest 2. Something is getting fowled up at scene saving which causes the contollers' triggers to malfunction!

Hi, vamX isn't a part of new scenes by default. Press the "Add vamX" button to the side of the Virt-a-Mate menu. Open the Virt-a-Mate menu by pressing the Toggle UI (in desktop mode) or VR Controller menu buttons (in VR). The Virt-a-Mate menu is always there, but the vamX menu is only there if you use the default vamX scene, or add vamx to a scene. If you add vamx, then save your scene, it'll be there next time you open the scene.

This is important as for scene creators, they may want the huge set of elements required for vamX to be in there scene. You could create, for example, a scene where you aren't supposed to change poses or do any of what vamX does, so vamX isn't a default, and won't be, for new scenes created (which is more the realm of experienced users / creators).

To Developer: Look, you're not getting my point. I saved over a hundred different files! when with Patreon. I'm no stranger to the game. I've had it over 2 years with Patreon! There is a bug when the scene is saved. I added the VAMX AND MAU... items to the scene, yet when saved and reopened, something has happened to the file which is causing the trigger buttons to malfunction...that's a fact! I can bring up the menu only by clicking the button again at the opening scene, but, it should come up automatically or disappear when pulling the trigger buttons...it DOESN'T WHEN USING THE SAVED FILE.

Can you walk me through steps to reproduce your issue. I'm thinking if you've had vamX for a while, you may have scenes saved that point to older vamX var packages, which can cause those scenes to be broken. If that isn't the case, and you can take the current vamX, save a scene, and load it and it doesn't work, can you tell me how? If you have old scenes that are broken, it wouldn't take me long to fix them with a global find/replace if they are important to you. Or just add your old vamX var packages back in if you still have them, if that's the issue. Let me know more if this doesn't help, and by more I mean step-by-step what to do to cause the breakage, or send me a sample scene .json file. Find me on Discord if needed.

.I have deleted the old vam/vamx I had from Patreon. I purchased the new version from Steam and loaded everything new from Steam so I have no old versions of anything from Patreon. Using the new versions from stream I proceded as follows:
1 Fired up vamx.
2. Pressed the B button on the controller.
3 Chose new empty scene.
4. Added vamx and then maive.
5. Added a bedroom scene.
6. Added any male.
7. Played around. Note, pressing trigger buttons hide/reshowed vamx menu.
8. Saved the scene.
9. EXITED VAMX.
10. Restarted vamx.
11. Opened previously saved scene.
12. Tried trigger buttons AND NOTHING HAPPENS. The vamx menu should appear/disappear. There lies the problem!
So to duplicate the environment you have to have a machine with steam installed, download the software and proceed as I did. I have windows 11 and a quest 2 vr headset.
Thanks.

I've learned something else...this problem only happens when maive is added as part of the scene.

Thanks for the clue about this being related to Maive. I'm not sure what happened, but it seems saving scenes with Maive was broken in the current release. There is already a (non-public) beta that you can get on Steam, and that version doesn't have this issue. I'll send you a private message so you can download and test the beta version.
