Battle of Rennell Island - Things I've noticed
First lets start with the Mission Menu Screen. It lists the battle as "Battle Of Rennell Island Battle". That really doesn't make any sense. It should just be "Battle Of Rennell Island".

2nd, the USS Chicago appears to be an incomplete model. There are no gun turrets. And the ships aren't under steam, they're just sitting in the water. That would never happen in a war zone, it makes for easy targets for the enemy.

3rd, it appears there is no way of actually saving the Chicago. One enemy bomber drops a bomb and it's sunk??

On to the next part of defending the Enterprise. With just torpedo bombers?? Really?? The first time I played this mission my squadron was somehow able to destroy all the enemy bombers and save the Enterprise, until the very last part where I'm supposed to ram a bomber to prevent it from dropping it's bombs. I had 30 or 60 seconds. But either way I was too far away to get to the bomber in the allotted time! No matter how many times I tried I couldn't get to the bomber. So I had to exit the game, and what does that do?, it takes me back to the beginning of the mission!! And I haven't been able to get to the ramming part again. This takes me back to a previous post I made about having the game remember the last successful checkpoint when you start it up. While the game is fun, having to start a mission over again, after you've already reached a checkpoint, and have to quit the game, for whatever reason, is a little frustrating.

But for the defending the Enterprise part, I think the coding needs to be adjusted to allow the Enterprise to take a few bomb hits, and even allow the Corsairs to be part of the mission.

And don't you know, the first time I tried playing the mission after I posted this, I was able to successfully complete the last part and save the Enterprise. But I think I just happened to be in the right plane that was close enough to get to the bomber within the allotted time.

One last thing, since I never heard of the USS Chicago, or the Battle Of Rennell Island, I did a little internet research, and discovered that the Chicago was indeed sunk during the battle, but not by bombs, but rather torpedoes. So I guess there is no way to actually save the Chicago since in reality it did get sunk, but maybe the game could reflect the Japanese bombers to launch torpedoes?? I'm not a programmer, so maybe that's a coding nightmare, but it's just a thought. Ü

Thanks. Well, you are obviously right in a lot of points :).

I have to admit these historically accurate points were overlooked during the development. Fixing most of them would actually do more harm than benefit (changing anything in the scripts and codes can obviously alter and raise more serious bugs, like progress blockers, etc), so we may unfortunately not be able to look into all of the reported points...

We will do our best to avoid such in the future :)
