japanese 4th battle zuikaku campaign
i made it to after the 2 subs should be sunk, and i gotta sink the light carrier?

problem is, with all the planes hitting good with a 500kg bomb it kinda needs a little more to be sunk, and so mission failed because outta bombs and not enough damage (especially the first bomb drop) also the carrier type switches from american to japanese (weird?)

oh yeah, and the two submarines? after a few retries (checkpoint button) the seems not to be surfaced while first round they were, odd.

wouldnt wanna try this on a hard difficulty, since i had much trouble through the american campaign, but so far on japanese it went pretty smoothly

i'm using mouse arcade controls

One very important thing to keep in mind - your planes will automatically fly back to the carrier, rearm, and come back to the battlefield, but only if they are not severely damaged. If they are too badly damaged (less than 35%? I'm not sure), they will retreat and not come back. So, in missions where your total firepower isn't enough to achieve your objectives in one go, you need to be especially protective of your own aircraft. I remember when I first played Pacific Carriers, what I would do with each of my bombers is, after dropping bombs, pump every single last bullet into the target as well. If it was something as big as a carrier - well, you could actually lose a mission because the carrier's firepower will grind your planes down sooner or later.

No man, in this mission at this point, they dont go rearm, whenever i switch planes at that point, it goes back and stays, no retries.

Perhaps you didnt read the whole lot before posting? its just this part in this bloody mission, sometimes you do actually have parts where you only got 1 shot per plane, if you dont get damage enough when you run outta planes, its game over aka "Mission Failed".

i saw on youtube a german guy did it with 1 bomb to spare, the same 500kg bombs that i use, and his does actually more damage that mine did, even if i hit them as perfect as possible.
I want this bug fixed so i can finish the campaign, and move on to "Air Conflicts Vietnam"

I had the same problem as you but found the solution. When bombing with a dive bomber, the bombs do much more damage if you take a bit of altitude and really dive down on the target and drop the bomb.
So changing tactics from strafing and dropping the bomb when close and almost level to ignoring machineguns and just dive down from 500m and dropping the bomb in the elevators made the trick and had 2 bombs over when the escort carrier sunk.

i beat it in a different way, changed my layout from the 2 big bombs to some smaller ones, that did the trick, funny tho, the big ones should do twice as much damage as the 4 smaller ones, but they did the same ammount each. annoying but that can at least help others if they are getting stuck.
