File access denied means something is preventing GameMaker from accessing files, check your anti-virus or permission settings. Does this happen even if you run as admin?

I checked everything you said, my anti-virus accepts it, but for some reason, i cannot access my firewall settings, and yes, it even happens when i run it as admin.

Although this is very old I've recently come across the same issue with GameMaker 8.1. I ended up having to uninstall GameMaker 8.1. Delete the Registry entries HKLM > Software > Gamemaker. Delete each entry under the HKU > *Each User Profile* > Software > GameMaker. Delete the Folder for the license located at C:\ProgramData\Game Maker. Reinstalled the Software and License again and everything was working after that.

I have never seen this have you looked at the games files just go to what the directory was and search to see if you have edited very major files.Or you may have probably the unofficial steam one that the makers put on their website and simply added the software on your steam library you can tell if it you did it by opening your library and see if gamemaker is in ALL GAMES (when it should be in ALL SOFTWARE).
