Why does Yoyogames ask for your real name, phone number, and address?

I bought the Humble Bundle for $25, and normally I wouldn't even ask this because my Steam copy of Pro never once asked me to register with Yoyo and the site itself (as far as I recall) says you don't have to make a yoyo account to use GameMaker. Only now, I'm being told I have to make a Yoyo account and provide my personal information before they give me the Steam Keys offered in the bundle. The heck? Why do they need that info? The software has already been paid for.

The humble bundle keys are for the yoyo version of gamemaker. So you do need to create an account with them in order to redeem the keys and request a steamkey.

Just do what I did and put a fake phone number and house address in. The only "real" information they got off me was my name and email address. nothing more.

Thanks for giving some kind of clarification, but asking for my real name, phone number, and address? Save for applying for a position at Yoyogames, I don't see what business it is of theirs knowing all this.

Thank you for offering a suggestion in any case. Maybe you see where I'm coming from somewhat. Hope that doesn't count against you down the road
