Is this engine good to make Visual novels or dating sims...

If not which other engine would you guys recommend me instead?

*im asking because i dont see any visual novels and stuff in the workshop ~_~

Visual Novels can be made with GameMaker (along with a rather large number of other softwares), it's just there might not be any workshop-related VN stuff for GameMaker due to lack of popularity and such.
I know Degica's making a "Visual Novel" Maker, similar to the RPG Maker products, and Tyrannobuilder is on Steam (don't remember the exact name). You've also got programs like renpy.

I'd suggest looking to see what everything offers and if it matches what you need.

Yes. You can do anything with it. Even 3D games.

if youre just making a VN , get Renpy instead, its free, very easy, and the tutorials basicaly tells you everything todo to get a basic VN out of it
