[Tutorials Resource] Look inside!
HeartBeast
The is one of the most well known people on YouTube in terms of GameMaker tutorials. He explains all of the functions and code that he uses throughout his videos so you can learn from it and apply it in your own game situation. So much better than a copy/paste tutorial.

Here is a video where he starts off with a platformer, but he has many other videos on RPGs, networking, level design etc

Shaun Spalding
Well he's the community manager for YoYo Games. He offers many different types of tutorials and puts up stuff from his streams that he also does.

Here is a video where he shows you how to make an enemy chase through AI.

RealTutsGML
The tutorials from this guy may seem a little dated but can still be very useful.

rm2kdev
This guy offers a variety of tutorials and also does a few little series.

The Sivart
This particular guy caters for the 3D side of Game Maker

Lewis Clark
This Youtuber focuses on a variety of aspects within the learning process.

The Game Makers reference

This is one of the most vital source of information you should have open when jumping into Game Maker.

Link for reference doc: https://docs.yoyogames.com/source/dadiospice/002_reference/

There you can search for commands and such. However when in Game Maker itself when you type out a function you can click the middle mouse button and it will open up the help on that specific function.

This comes in VERY handy when you want to know what specific values go into the arguments of a function.

Hope this helps all you folks who just got the GameMaker Studio Pro from the Humble Bundle. I have only listed a few YouTubers to get you started but of course there are many more out there!

Have fun creating those imaginative ideas.

These are awesome, Matt, thank you. Always looking for more resources to get started.

Long time coder, new to Game Maker, perfect way to get started with different types of games. The 3D is particularly interesting.

Yeah I came across various whilst seeking help with my own code and people like HeartBeast are perfect for newer and even more experienced folk.

Such as for movement moving from the hspeed stuff to physics stuff.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm ready to dive into hardcore physics... that will probably be the next tutorial I take. I'm keen on databases, storage, and GUI programming -- never tried my hand at physics.

For those who have just dived into the program.

Oh, and I love Howard the Duck, Underrated. Have you seen Garbage Pail Kids? One of my favorites.

The developer of Gun Point has a series as well. There are 27 videos in this playlist.
