Report a translation problem
Open your room and make sure the box is checked for enable use of views, and select your player as the object to follow.
Also set the hport and vport to screen as half of the xview and yview. If this doesn't give you the view that you want then you can adjust the numbers, but this is a good starting point.
So if your room is 800x400, set the port view to 400x200
I haven't messed with views for a while, so I'm going by memory, but it's quite simple.
