...Waiting for debugger to connect...
Whenever I try to run game in debug mode it never opens and just says waiting for debugger to connect. I've tried verifying the files, reinstalling but it still does the same thing. Someone please help.

If I remember correctly there should also be a popup asking if you want your Windows firewall to permit the debugger. Maybe you selected no or mistakenly selected it? Debugger works offline too so the firewall thing is weird.

There was never any prompt or popup asking anything. Whenever I try to run it nothing comes up at all.

You can go to your windows firewall and manually disable it for the gms debugger.Go to start )on windows 7) and type "firewall" in the search bar then select the option that lets you change which programms are allowed in the firewall,then just add gms to the list.This should fix your problem,if it is caused by the firewall

I use Kaspersky and I'm on Windows 10 not 7.

I went into Kaspersky trusted programs and set Gamemaker Studio to allow and it's still not working.

Kaspersky isn't Windows. It could be that the Windows firewall blocks connections, so trusting GMS in Kaspersky won't change anything.

I don't even think it's a firewall issue, but it's still something to try.

Well when I go to windows firewall it says that these settings are being managed by kaspersky so I don't think it will let me change anything because kaspersky overides it. Also idk how to set programs to be trusted on windows firewall for windows 10.

Well fair enough. I guess you may have to contact Kaspersky and Yoyogames for support. You may also check the Game maker Community forum to see if others with Kaspersky/Win10 are having issues.

You can try to disconnect from the internet and disable Kaspersky to see if the issue goes away, but i would not recommend that. Not only is it a pain in the ass, it's also a risk and besides, GM:S should work without you having to resort to workarounds.

Contact support, it's their job afterall.
