I used level select my first time and raged when I didn't get it. Hopefully the same can't be said for you, because for me that meant I got to go through it...again (and it's my least favorite game of the Basement Collection, so that didn't help).
Good luck with your problem, anyways. That's the most help I can offer.
I pretty much hate Tri-Achnid, so having to play through it again, especially knowing I'll have to attempt that one again... I really, really have no desire to do that. >_<
The strategy there is to plant a web on the second floating platform from left of the start, toward the left edge preferably, and use a blue flying bug to carry yourself to the top right cliff where the maggot is held, carefully place the maggot on your head without discarding the blue bug, and plant the web on the very upper lip of the ledge (REMEMBER YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE WEB DURING THIS ENTIRE PROCESS) If you have done this properly, you will now be able to use your web as a tightrope and reach safety.
Ok this might be late in the day, though after hours of trying, I can confirm you don't have to complete it in one play through in order to get the achieve.
I played through once, missed 3 of them, went onto level select, picked level 2, got the larvae there, it saved it onto my collection on the main triachnid menu, I then quit and went back to the main basement collection menu, to see what I unlocked. I went back onto the game and selected the cliff level as that was the last one I needed. My larvae ball was clear at this point and I thought 'oh damn I have to get them all in one go', and then just tried for it anyway, and as soon as my ball touched the larvae (it was the one that has to be gotten by throwing the ball), the achievement came up on my screen.
I don't know if I had to get to the end of the level, though I did anyway, which was a mini torture fest and then went to main triachnid menu and I had them all. So yeah, it case anyone didn't know... Thank god I don't have to play this game again, because it was awful. Story and idea is nice, the reality is like being tortured.
