Did you use level select at all? You have to get all the larvae in one playthrough.

I used level select my first time and raged when I didn't get it. Hopefully the same can't be said for you, because for me that meant I got to go through it...again (and it's my least favorite game of the Basement Collection, so that didn't help).

Good luck with your problem, anyways. That's the most help I can offer.

So basically play it and collect them all in one go? Damn thats going to suck, I really dont enjoy triachnid.

... I actually might just not bother with this one if I can't do it with level select. I just finished the game after hours, literally hours of trying to get the 5th one on the cliffs (where you need to fly over the spikes, then somehow make it back down without stabbing yourself), eventually just giving up, figuring I could use level select later.

I pretty much hate Tri-Achnid, so having to play through it again, especially knowing I'll have to attempt that one again... I really, really have no desire to do that. >_<

The strategy there is to plant a web on the second floating platform from left of the start, toward the left edge preferably, and use a blue flying bug to carry yourself to the top right cliff where the maggot is held, carefully place the maggot on your head without discarding the blue bug, and plant the web on the very upper lip of the ledge (REMEMBER YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE WEB DURING THIS ENTIRE PROCESS) If you have done this properly, you will now be able to use your web as a tightrope and reach safety.

I agree, it has to be the worst. It's not even the fact that it's not very fun, but terrible lag makes it unbearable
The Ax-Man Sep 3, 2012 @ 10:46pm
You've got that right... if the inexplicable lag was fixed, the game would actually be amazing. But because of it, it makes the whole thing nigh unplayable. Then maybe the 5th larva wouldn't be so horrifyingly difficult. I don't mind a challenge, but not when it's because of poor framerate.

Just got the achievement seemed easy enough , its not a long game so its not that hard to do it in one playthrough.

I haven't had a single problem with lag in this game though

I really like Tri-Achnid, but I don't like playing it all at once and stressing about the fact that I'm going to need to have the time to do it all without quitting. So the fact that you have to do it all in one playthrough is a bad decision IMO.

Has anyone else ever had problems with the controls in triachnid? I've done a single playthrough and got all larvae except 3 and on my second playthrough im having trouble controlling the damn thing, i'm not sure if its my mouse running out of battery power or something. I've changed them twice or whether its just the game being badly made and adapted from the flash, which is what it feels like. Getting this bug to fly up to the platform in level 2 for the other larvae is excruiciatingly painful. I want to try and finish the game, yet its just unbearable.

Ok this might be late in the day, though after hours of trying, I can confirm you don't have to complete it in one play through in order to get the achieve.

I played through once, missed 3 of them, went onto level select, picked level 2, got the larvae there, it saved it onto my collection on the main triachnid menu, I then quit and went back to the main basement collection menu, to see what I unlocked. I went back onto the game and selected the cliff level as that was the last one I needed. My larvae ball was clear at this point and I thought 'oh damn I have to get them all in one go', and then just tried for it anyway, and as soon as my ball touched the larvae (it was the one that has to be gotten by throwing the ball), the achievement came up on my screen.

I don't know if I had to get to the end of the level, though I did anyway, which was a mini torture fest and then went to main triachnid menu and I had them all. So yeah, it case anyone didn't know... Thank god I don't have to play this game again, because it was awful. Story and idea is nice, the reality is like being tortured.
