Just a word of advice, the game is not the easiest one around, plenty of cursing and shouting to be had sometimes, but it was all so worth it regardless. :P
And make sure to set important buttons like dimension swap, special attacks and the grab button and jump to something readily accesible, i suppose. Helps alot in those later stages or the good ol hellish bonus areas these games sometimes have.
im playing on keyboard and the controls are delayed and sometimes do not register at all...
This is ♥♥♥♥. It feels bad, it is hella hard to do any combos with it. If i mess one button Up by a millisecond and press special before i press the direction i fall/die etc.
Game is fun, but unplayable for me on keyboard. Any fixes for that?
This is -the- major caveat to playing games like this on a keyboard. You often need to be pressing more than one key at the same time. If you're trying to press up, right and jump all at the same time during those delightful wall-jumping sections... especially when you might need to add a fourth key to use abilities to extend the reach of your jump, your keyboard may not be able to handle that.
Guys... it's okay to use a gamepad on a PC. It's okay. You don't have to keep up the elitism crap. Personally I have a PS2-to-USB converter so I use a PS2 controller to play this. Granted I have to use Joy2Key to map the buttons because the game doesn't seem to pick up the controller at all (maybe this is one of those games that only picks up a 360 controller).
Here's an interesting read on this issue, minus the plug for a Microsoft product: http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/antighostingexplained.mspx
Blame us for thinking we're better than console users, blame us for thinking PC games are historically more ground-breaking than console titles, but don't claim we're elitist for using a keyboard. That is simply a preference for some of us, much like a person's preference for consoles vs PCs and vice versa.
(completely off-topic, and highly sarcastic....)
On-topic: All I'll say is that when a game is designed with a controller in mind, that makes me a bit peeved but not overwhelmingly so. In fact, beating Super Meat Boy with a keyboard is one of my proudest moments of last year.... along with Teleglitch, Desktop Dungeons, Brutal Legend, etc.
