Space backgrounds too small in 4k. Easily fixable by devs?

I was wondering if you were to replace the space backgrounds in .pkg files with 4x larger versions then it would look the same as in 1080p.

How the hell are you able to play in 4K? the game officially supports up to 1900x1200 and 1920x1080

Wow, it actually worked. Using reseditor I replaced the 2000x2000 background image with a 4000x4000 version and now the background looks much bigger ingame. Tho now I wonder if I want to rescale all 20+ backgrounds. Maybe there's code that determines image scaling and adjust it for 4k?

I also noticed that planet and government background images are sized at 1920x1536 which means if you play at 16:9 you're missing one thirth the background image, lol. I wonderer if i can resize them and not make them look too flat. The originals already look like their height has been stretched, i think.

OK. I upscaled all space backgrounds to 4000x4000 with photoshop preserve detail settings. Every image looks better and encompasses all the screen in 4k, so win win. If anyone plays at 4k I can share the modified pkg file.
