Did they put the English voices back in?

As far as I heard, the Japanese lines weren't changed despite saying nearly the same thing, so removing the English dialogue altogether for a few alleged problematic lines was silly. And even if they can't get back the Japan-residing English VAs or the USA-anime VAs, they could at least get soundalikes to redub the few problematic lines to simply not have the issues they had anymore.

No. Someone modded it for the Switch version already so I'd expect a dub mod to pop up pretty quickly for this.

The opening animation was in English, but the game itself is in Japanese. I would have opted for the original Japanese VO regardless, but it would have been nice to have the option.

man I'm so exhausted over this generation of gaming where everyone is walking on eggshells not to offend people who wouldn't have bought this game anyways. even more tired that it keeps happening over and over and over again with other remasters and even newer games getting censors. I just want to play and enjoy a game without drama.

You're going to get snarky responses from censorship apologists bending themselves into a pretzel trying to argue that it isn't censorship just because it's minor censorship but you are absolutely right. Sloppy and/or censorious localization needs more pushback than it gets.

problem is that it's not going to happen because the strategy they have is working. they become EXHAUSTING people to deal with and after a certain point you just get tired of expressing even the mildest push back because you KNOW they'll just be aggressively annoying and try to get everyone against you. It's just not worth the hassle anymore and so, for me personally, I just keep my mouth shut and let the sales speak for themselves. Forspoken was bad enough to shut a studio down so it's only a matter of time before the same fate happens to other studios that want to try to appeal to "modern audiences" that aren't even going to save them when they fall.

I hear ya, but in fairness, the pants-on-head retarded publisher shadow dropping the PC version will be what hurts this release if anything.

They altered, some may say censored, a lot of the english dialogue that was deemed "problematic". A good example what to expect is the fact that you cannot choose your gender as the spirit at the beginning anymore. While the japanese version of this remaster still lets you choose.

There wasn't anything problematic with the games. Thankfully now that it's on PC people can fix the game with mods and you don't have to give Bamco any money to get it.

It didnt do very well on switch either, so bamco is probably just releasing to get as many sales as possible. Not surprising since its not a very good remaster and had little to no marketing.

i will just play my gamecube original.

Pretty sure only some of the lines in the game are voiced. You're going to have to read most of the dialogue either way.

It's already been done with the Switch version. All they need to do is apply the same thing to this one.
