i figured nintendo had *some* rights over origins in some way or another but i guess maybe not, aside from begging them to make another game, publishing it, and then purchasing monolith right after
Dq treasures was recent, and by end of july I predicte dq monsters 3.
"Unexpected" that it just came out of nowhere with no warning (and sadly I'll also say little to none advertisting/marketing whatsoever, unlike other recent stuff like SMT V, the KH series, Monster Hunter Stories etc.), that's what I've mostly meant...
But sure, also partially that it would have stayed on Nintendo's side for a much longer time.
This getting shadow dropped like this and out of nowhere, now this was unexpected
Yep, that's what I've said in the previous message also, editing that I thought it just would have stayed locked on GameCube/Switch for longer. But nope, here we are, out of the blue.
No doubt that it wouldn't have stayed exclusive. Nowadays Nintendo owns 80% of Monolith Soft from what I've understood (so they can keep with Xenoblade Chronicles), but yea, Baten Kaitos and Xenosaga (I have the copium ready) are different matters.
Naw I am correct. Game was bravely default 2, 2021. About 6 to 8 switch advertised games when marketed did not have anything beyond Nintendo. But all Shadow dropped within a year.
It's like an agreement in backroom with Nintendo. A few dq games and a few other rpgs and 1 non rpg all Shadow dropped.
My guess, Nintendo wants all sales, no one sitting on fence waiting for pc. Shin megami v was an exception. But they added new game.
This game does not feature any Nintendo owned content or material
I think you are kinda strange. The game was shown off at a Nintendo direct. It never stated coming to pc or other consoles. Hence threads popped up online.
And like I stated this is the 6 to 8th Shadow drop switch has shadow dropped 2021.
All Shadow dropped games, 0 marketing or knowledge by gamers. But hey see a 3rd party switch only jrpg these days. Just figure it as a time exclusive.
Hecht shin megami v would have been Shadow dropped but they added content
I'm referring to the game's copyright notice.
