Stuck after merchant hammer request

It says theres a new type of request, and the line points to what seems to be behind the request board. not sure what to do as the merchant wont take other finished requests.

try reaching through the board and grabbing, i noticed often when he posts new requests and flips the board, the letters dont flip with the board and stay on his side, they are still grabable

Nah, I forgot to mention I tried that, and it's not grabbing anything.

I'm dumb, it wasn't on the back of the board, it was mixed in among the other requests and i didn't know which it was.
