After first conversation at beginning I get graphics/character/dotchara error

After the first conversation at the beginning of the game when the girl asks about her comedy club, then she says something like you wanna know? it goes into a black screen with a white box showing asian characters and a message saying "Graphics/Characters/Dotchara". When I click ok the game quits every time. I have tried running in compatibility modes for older version of Windows, since I run Windows 10, but the problem is with the game somehow. I can run games from 2007 on Windows 10 perfectly, and this game is newer than that. All my drivers are updated as well. Can someone please tel me how to fix this? Thank you. This is why I am glad there are demos before we fork over money to purchase the game.

Is this the demo? I haven't tried the demo myself, but I remember reading multiple accounts that the demo isn't as updated as the game.

Also, FYI, this game's engine is a (heavily customized) RPG Maker, so if you ever need to fix stuff, try looking up fixes for the same issues with other RPG Maker games.

I found a fix for users if they want this game. The only way I found that eliminates this issue is by downloading the game directly from the game maker's site. You can also go full screen by hitting Alt-Enter, and also F1 if you want options.

From what I experienced, the issue was only with the demo. They do need to fix that though. I'm glad someone's finally doing something about it.

Thats correct, this is only the case for the steam demo, the normal version does not have this issue present.

I got the demo today and having the same problem... glad it's demo only but if it wasn't for this thread I would have wrote this game off ^^;
